Rott-am-Inn, Germany skull in skull niche (Schadelnische)
A few painted skulls are present at Rott-am-Inn; the site is noted in the book. It was at Rott-am-Inn that I learned a lesson about Germans and punctuality. I had to take something like three trains and a bus to get here to meet a representative from the church at noon. When I arrived at the station, I found that the church was at the top of a large hill, and I had to trudge all the way carrying a huge amount of photographic equipment. When I got to the church, the man looked at me disdainfully and informed me that I was late–it was five minutes past noon.
